Itinerary
This is an unforgettable trip through 4600 sq. miles of fantastic salt landscapes. The dazzling white cloak that is Uyuni's Salt Flats looks like a huge glacier. In winter (dry season from May to October), when the surface is harder, geometrical-like figures shaped from salt particles clustered in polygons show up. In summer (watery season from November to February) the salty desert becomes a giant mirror that melts with the America's purest sky. First we will visit the Trains Cemetery, then we will enter Salt Flats through Colchani, where we can shop handcrafts made out of salt, beyond that; the salt hills. After we will visit the hotel made out of salt, the waterholes, and we will head to visit Incahuasi Island, made of volcanic rocks and giant cactuses and a summit that is an extraordinary lookout for the salt white plain. After the visit to the island, we will have lunch and in the evening, we will enjoy the sunset and then head back to Uyuni.

About Uyuni
Uyuni is a high, dusty town on Bolivia's southern altiplano, the starting point for crossings of the vast white Salar de Uyuni salt flat.
Uyuni stands at about 3,650 metres on the southern Altiplano, a wind-swept railway town of wide streets and low buildings. Its train cemetery, a few kilometres out on the plain, holds rusting steam locomotives and carriages left from the days when British-built railways carried minerals to the Pacific. The town is the main base for visits to the Salar de Uyuni.
Top-ranked sights in Uyuni: Train Cemetery (Cementerio de Trenes), Tunupa Volcano.
