• 5Magical sunrise tour of Tikal with the best guide Kendal!

  We booked the sunrise tour of Tikal via our hotel in Flores, and it was truly a highlight of our whole trip in Guatemala. Our guide Kendal arrived at our hotel right on time to meet us at 3am, and led us to our transport vehicle. We were the only 3 people in the group, so it turned into a fantastic private tour! The journey into the jungle was exciting as you have no idea what's around you in the pitch dark, but Kendal was fantastic at explaining about the history and nature of the park, and the best part, showing us unexpected glimpses of the temples with his flashlight to whet our appetite for later! We got to experience the majestic sight of the sunrise over the jungle, while listening to the sounds of wildlife. Afterwards we had a comprehensive tour of many of the other temples and parts of the national park. Kendal didn't rush us at all, and took time to explain many interesting facts. He was also great at listening out for the spider monkeys in the trees, so we were able to spot a few nearby, which was an incredible sight! It was truly a wonderful day getting to visit this special place, made all the more enjoyable thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable guide who was a pleasure to meet.

• 5Excelent tour operator

  We are travel agents and had been struggling to get a decent tour operator in Guatemala. All took ages to answer, weren+t formal. We came up to TikalGo and sent some clients and came ourselves to try out their services. FAN-TAS-TIC. Super organized, formal, their guides, suggested hotels, tours, everything was top-notch. I cannot recommend them enough. Only drawback was the informail airlines in the domestic flights, but that is hardly TikalGO's fault. Guatemala is a beautiful, beautiful place and TikalGO makes sure you get the most out of it. I know a lot of people take the backpacking approach to "banana republics" in central america. Splurging for a better trip is 100% worth it .

• 5Tikal with the best tour guide ever - Nathanael

  My husband and I visited Tikal by taking a shirt flight from Guatemala City to Flores. From Flores , we were greeted by our tour guide and driver , Nathanael and Melvin who drive us from the Flores airport into Tikal. Nathanael was very kind and speaks excellent English and Spanish. The drive was comfortable and interesting to observe the common life of the people living there on the way. The tour of Tikal was an experience of a life time. We were lucky to have gone during a slow season and have what felt like the whole plaza to ourselves. Nathanael shared a wealth of knowledge. He is very smart and can you tell you not only about the rich history but even identify the sounds of the forest animals. We were very impressed and genuinely enjoyed our time with him. Highly recommend this experience and with Nathaniel and Melvin. Thank you for a great time !

  Amazing tour to the Mayan ruins. Our tour guide Nate taught us so much about the local areas, nature in Tikal, and the history of the Mayan people. We loved that the entire tour was arranged by TikalGo, we just had to show up!

About Flores

Flores is a small island town in Lake Petén Itzá in northern Guatemala, the main base for the Maya ruins of Tikal and the Petén rainforest.

Flores sits on a small island in Lake Petén Itzá, joined to the shore by a short causeway, with cobbled lanes circling a hilltop plaza and a cathedral. It stands on the site of Nojpetén, the last capital of the Itza Maya, which held out against the Spanish until 1697. The island is ringed with small hotels and lakeside restaurants, and boats cross to lakeshore villages.
