5Stonetown: complicated history
I found the history of Stonetown and Zanzibar to be fascinating and complicated, being a major center of trade and influence for many parts of the world. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. He also had a wonderful sense of humor. Learning a little bit about the deep and rich history have me a heater arrived appreciation and enjoyment for the rest of our visit.
5Walking Tour

5Nas is a knowledgeable and entertaining guide
Nas is very knowledgeable, made the tour fun by being interactive. He also adjusted the start time for the tour due to our delay (Hakuna Matata). We felt comfortable walking Stone Town’s windy streets and interacted with some locals that Nas knew along the way. The tour lasted approx 3 hrs, kept our interest throughout . There were 4 of us in our private group.
5Learn about Stone town with Mo, excellent experience!

5Great 3h walking tour thru Stonetown
The booking process was easy via TripAdvisor and he confirmed the tour just hours later. Nas picked us up from our hotel and guided us to all the stops mentioned in the description of the tour. He was punctual and really knowledgeable. He explained the different structures in perfect English and was really easy to listen to. He really wanted us to remember the facts, so he made it interactive. During the trip he also showed us details here and there and he made sure that we had time to ask questions. Of course we walked by vendors, but I didnt feel pressured one bit to buy anything. At the end he asked us about the rest of our day and made great recommendations. All in all totally worth it and highly recommended by us!
5Walking tour of Stone Town with a great guide (Nas)!
Nas was an exceptional guide for our walking tour. He was wealth of knowledge both historical and current cultural context. He has a great sense of humour which he blended into the facts he was providing. He also was very flexible and allowed us to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see. We would highly recommend doing a walking tour of Stone Town, with a guide, and you definitely want Nas as your guide! Great experience!

About Zanzibar City
Zanzibar City is the main town of Zanzibar island, and its old Stone Town of carved doors and narrow lanes carries Swahili, Arab and Indian history.
Stone Town is the old heart of Zanzibar City, a maze of narrow lanes, coral-stone houses and carved wooden doors, shaped by centuries of Arab, Indian, Persian and European traders. The House of Wonders, the Old Fort and the Sultan's Palace face the seafront, and Forodhani Gardens fills with food stalls at dusk. The Anglican cathedral stands on the site of a former slave market, with a sobering memorial nearby.
