Highlights

The Slovenia in One Day tour, running small-group from Ljubljana since 2011: Lake Bled, Postojna Cave, and Predjama Castle in one day, with a licensed local guide and no more than 8 guests. One day, three of Slovenia's best-known places! You'll glide across Lake Bled on a traditional pletna boat to the island church, ride the underground train deep into Postojna Cave, and stand beneath Predjama Castle, built improbably into a cliff face. Between the sights, there's time to walk the lakeshore, taste the famous Bled cream cake, and hear the stories your local guide grew up with. Because the group stays small, up to 8 in a comfortable van rather than a big coach, the day stays relaxed and bends to what your group feels like. Admissions like the cave, the boat, and the castles are optional, so you only pay for the stops you choose, and we share the prices upfront. Run by Slovenia Explorer, an official Gray Line Slovenia licensee.

Itinerary

  1. Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest Karst monuments.

    2 h

  2. The Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, perched high up in a vertical cliff, not far from the Postojna cave, in the idyllic village of Predjama. It is an interesting and romantic sight throughout the year: in the spring and summer its surroundings are abundant with blossoms and flowers, in the autumn it is clad in the colours of surrounding forests and it is at its most enchanting in the winter when the surrounding area is covered in snow.

    1 h

  3. A trip to Bled, the charming Alpine resort at the very edge of the Julian Alps, must be a part of any visit to Slovenia.

    30 min

  4. Dive in the lake tradition and ride by pletna boat to the island. Following the boat ride, you get some time to explore the little island and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding area. Optionally, you can enter the Church of the Assumption and even ring the wishing bell, which has been ringing over Lake Bled since 1534.

    1 h

  5. Visit Bled castle, perched on a sheer cliff high above Lake Bled. Visit the Bled castle museum, which gives you an insight into the history of the entire area, and admire the views of Lake Bled from several viewpoints at the castle.

  • 5Great Slovenian Tour

This was a really great tour! Our guide, Vojka was superb and I felt like she went above and beyond any tour guide I have ever had. It's was a long day, but so worth going to see all these magical places. So glad we went!!

  • 5Brillliant tour

Fabulous tour to see the highlights of Slovenia in one day. Great driver/guide. Very clear directions. Easy to find collection point, on time. Lovely clean and comfortable minibus. Ample time in each destination. Bring snacks and drinks to have between stops (although do leave room for an ice cream on Bled Island)!

  • 5Slovenia in one day tour exceeds expectations

Took the Slovenia in one day tour today with Luka. Excellent in every way. The day unfolded exactly as described, and Luka provided non-stop commentary about the sites as well as great insights into Slovenian history, culture and lifestyle. The attractions were impressive, options were offered to customize your experience and Luka engaged with each of us to ensure that we got what we wanted from the tour. Highly recommend! Thanks Luka!

  • 5The weather was not good,...

The weather was not good, but we still had a great time on this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and had some good humor. I forget his name but we did the tour on 10 September 2026. At the cave, it was raining harder than before, but we were under cover while waiting to go inside so not so bad. The cave was a great experience. I've been in other caves but this was the best by far. So many interesting formations and different geology in evidence. At the castle, the rain had let up so we enjoyed touring it and taking more photos. We've been in many castles, but I don't get tired of them if they have some interesting history or construction. Finally, at lake Bled the weather had eased once again so with only a light sprinkle, we went to the island and enjoyed the views. There was a regatta going on and it was fun to watch some of the races. One of the people that was on the boat with us had competed the day prior for Australia and finished 3rd. The most disappointing thing about the weather was the it was so cloudy and foggy, the views while driving and at the stops were reduced to a short range so we didn't get to see the mountains or other sights. That happens sometimes and our guide couldn't do anything about it so still a great tour. Highly recommended.

  • 5Day out in Ljubljana

This was a fabulous day out exploring the caves, Lake Bled and Predjama Castle. Collected promptly and we had an excellent guide who was informative and entertaining. It’s a full day out and we came home tired but was well worth it. A couple of additional costs for the Lake and castle entries, not a bother.

About Ljubljana

Ljubljana is Slovenia's small, green capital, a riverside city of bridges, a hilltop castle and cafés, with lakes and mountains within reach.

Ljubljana sits on the Ljubljanica River beneath a castle on a wooded hill, and its compact centre is closed to most traffic. The architect Jože Plečnik shaped much of the look of the city, with the Triple Bridge, the riverside market colonnades and the National and University Library. The Dragon Bridge, guarded by four dragons, recalls the city's symbol, and a funicular climbs to the castle.

Top-ranked sights in Ljubljana: Dragon Bridge, Ljubljana Old Town, Triple Bridge (Tromostovje).
