55 star!
Tom and Oscar were the best guides! So fun to chat with and this was my favorite part of my trip to Iceland. Can't wait to be back!
1Unsafe unfriendly unprofessional 👎
Review: What we experienced on this glacier tour was not just disappointing — it was genuinely alarming. From the very beginning, the treatment during equipment distribution felt more like being herded around than being welcomed as paying guests. The staff was unfriendly, dismissive, and far from the professional standard you expect from a tour operator. It only got worse: the equipment provided was clearly inadequate — cold, wet, and not fit for purpose. No regard whatsoever for safety, health, or basic responsibility. This is not just poor service, this is negligence. The company showed zero accountability for the risks they were exposing customers to and handled arising issues carelessly and unprofessionally. I strongly advise against booking with them. ⸻
5Beautiful day for a glacier hike
It was a beautiful day and our guides were knowledgeable and patient and we had so much fun climbing and hiking
5I did it
Had two minds when I saw the glacier. Am 68..but it was too inviting. Edgar , our tour guide looked confident to me, so I said let's do it..and what an experience it was ..can never forget this one , with crampons on your shores and ice axe in my hand, gave me al the confidence..and what a pleasure digging the ice and eating it..thanks Edgar
5Great day on the glacier!
Boy were we lucky to have such an amazing tour guide! Maria’s adventurous character kept us through the chilly but breathtaking experience we undertook. She shared amazing stories, facts, and made us feel like experiences glacier hikers (though that was definitely not the case!). The adventure was superiorly unique and unforgettable. The ice climbing was challenging but Maria helped us to feel comfortable and safe the entire time! I would highly recommend this tour to an active family such as ourselves. Be prepared and bring layers for sure!
5Highlight experience
All well arranged: you get suitable shoes, crampons and gear. Then you are loaded into a bus with the “normal” hiking people. However you are special! As you will go with two guides to climb on the glacier. Really great experience. Rickhart and Mario were two excellent guides. Took the time to explain and helped us climb the ice wall. Highlight of the holiday so far.

About Skaftafell
Skaftafell is a green pocket of Vatnajökull National Park in south-east Iceland, with glacier tongues, the Svartifoss waterfall and walking trails.
Skaftafell is a green oasis in south-east Iceland, set between black sand plains and the white ice of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap by volume. It forms part of Vatnajökull National Park, and from the visitor centre trails lead through birch scrub and heather to glacier tongues and waterfalls. The Skaftafellsjökull, an outlet glacier, is in view from several paths, and the huge outwash plain of Skeiðarársandur stretches to the coast.
