Highlights

We cannot guarantee that guests will see the Aurora, as it is a natural phenomenon. Even under clear skies, it may be faint or invisible to the naked eye due to low solar activity, although cameras can often capture it better. We will do our best to give you the best chance of seeing the Aurora. If weather conditions are unfavorable, we may try to reschedule or cancel the tour. If the tour is canceled or the new time does not fit your itinerary, you will receive a full refund. Depending on the weather, we may visit one or several locations. Under clear skies, we may stay longer at one location rather than move too often, as the Aurora could appear at any time. Sometimes 2–4 groups from our company go out together. Each group has its own guide, and guides may work as a team. Please stay with your own guide throughout the tour. A barbecue may be provided if time and conditions allow, but it is not a full dinner and may be served late. We recommend having dinner before the tour.

About Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi, on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, is a river city known for Santa Claus Village, northern lights, reindeer and deep snow.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, set where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers join, just south of the Arctic Circle. The town was rebuilt after being burnt in the Second World War, and its street plan, drawn by the architect Alvar Aalto, is said to echo a reindeer's antlers. Arktikum, a museum and science centre, tells the story of life in the Arctic, and a lit footbridge known as the Lumberjack's Candle crosses the river.

Top-ranked sights in Rovaniemi: Arktikum, Santa Claus Office.
