You will be picked up from your hotel in Punta Cana or the surrounding areas. Our friendly and professional guide will meet you in the lobby or entrance of your hotel to start the day.
As we drive to Higüey (approximately 1.5 hours), you'll pass through beautiful rural landscapes, including sugar cane plantations and local villages. Scenic Views: Enjoy picturesque views of the countryside, with opportunities to snap photos of tropical vegetation and rural life. The first stop will be at the Basilica, one of the most important religious sites in the country. Learn about its history, stunning architecture, and the significance of the Virgin of Altagracia to the Dominican people. You will have time to admire the art inside the cathedral and take photos.
Next, we will visit the lively local market. Wander through the stalls filled with fresh produce, local spices, handmade crafts, and Dominican souvenirs.
This stop will immerse you in Dominican culture and history. Explore exhibits showcasing Dominican art, music, and traditions. Learn about the country’s heritage and the role Higüey played in shaping the Dominican Republic’s culture.
