  2. This historic townhouse, built in 1924, has served as a post office (Amman's first), the Ministry of Finance and a hotel. Today, it has been restored with period furnishings by a prominent Jordanian businessman, who is also the duke of the village of Mukhaybeh. The collection of old photos of Amman provide an interesting glimpse of a bygone age. It's all quite underplayed, but rather charming nonetheless.

Much of the produce is locally grown and the prices are substantially more affordable than most supermarkets in Amman. Take a stroll through the souk and enjoy the abundance of fresh seasonal produce available while listening to the melodies of the traders songs, enticing you to their stalls, the tour guide will show you around.

    20 min

  4. you will be tasting a sweet dish called Kunafa, made by The Habibah family who are making these sweets since the 1940s....so they must be doing something right.

Guide was very knowledgeable. This 2 hour took me around the markets seeing food, traditional clothing, apothecary-like places etc. Tried a number of food items. This was a good glimpse into day-to-day life in Amman

  • 5Highlight of our trip

Amazing walking tour ! I highly recommend this tour, without a doubt, to anyone travelling to Amman. It is a great way to get to know the city, the country and the local culture. Our guide was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and even changed his plan to add stops depending on our interests (ex: visiting a Mosque). He took his time with us, stopping to sample foods on the way. He was more than generous with his time and knowledge.

  • 5Wonderful walking tour of the souks in Amman

I had a terrific time touring the souks in Amman and learning about the history and culture of Jordan. My tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and he helped me find some hidden treasures in the marketplace, as well as providing a wonderful memory of my time in Jordan.

  • 4Market Tour only, no sites

Interesting tour through the market areas. They did not go to any sites. We had less options due to Ramadan, but still got to try a few things. Biggest issue was guide spoke very fast, and was often hard to understand
