Itinerary

  1. We leave early from Reykjavik to make the most of the day exploring the stunning south coast of Iceland.

    1 h

  2. Our first stop is at the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This unique waterfall allows visitors to walk behind the water curtain, offering a unique and photogenic perspective. Just a few minutes' walk away is Gljúfrabúi, a hidden waterfall inside a canyon, often overlooked by tourists. This hidden gem offers a magical and less crowded experience.

    1.5 h

  3. We continue to Skógafoss, one of Iceland's largest and most majestic waterfalls. With a 60-meter drop, the mist often produces a rainbow, creating an impressive natural spectacle. Visitors can climb the 527 steps to the top for a panoramic view of the waterfall and the surrounding landscape.

    1.5 h

  4. Our next stop is Kvernufoss, a hidden waterfall that requires a short hike to reach. This lesser-known waterfall offers a quiet and close-to-nature experience, away from the crowds. In this area we will take the opportunity to have lunch before continuing with our route.

    3 h

  5. We head to the famous black sand beach of Reynisfjara, known for its stunning basalt formations, sea caves, and the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks. This place is perfect for enjoying the wild nature and taking spectacular photos.

    1.5 h

  6. Our final stop is at Dyrhólaey, a rocky promontory with panoramic views of the coast. During the summer season (May to August), this is an excellent place to spot puffins, charismatic seabirds that nest on the cliffs. The views from here are simply breathtaking, offering a great conclusion to our tour.

    1.5 h

  7. We start our journey back to Reykjavik, arriving at approximately 8:00 PM. On the way back, we can reflect on the natural wonders seen and enjoy the Icelandic landscape.

About Reykjavik

Reykjavik is the northernmost capital of any nation, a colourful, compact city of art and music that opens onto Iceland's volcanic landscapes.

The landmark Hallgrímskirkja church, its tower inspired by basalt columns, rises above streets of brightly painted houses. Down by the harbour, the glass-fronted Harpa concert hall shimmers on the water, and the Sun Voyager sculpture faces the sea toward Mount Esja. Laugavegur, the main shopping street, is lined with design shops, cafés and bars.

Top-ranked sights in Reykjavik: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, Harpa.
