Itinerary
Nagarkot is a village in central Nepal, at the rim of the Kathmandu Valley. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest to the northeast, which are especially striking at sunrise and sunset. The surrounding scrubland is laced with trails and home to many butterflies.
The Changu Museum, which has been in operation for 11 years and is the only private museum in the country, not only preserves some of the most astounding and eccentric relics in Nepal, but also focuses on the history and origins of Changunarayan itself. Changunarayan, a short drive from Kathmandu, is nestled on a hilltop between Bhaktapur and Nagarkot. The main draw of the village is the temple located at the top of a long ascent of brick steps that cuts through the neat and orderly town, which is named as one of Nepal’s seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Changu Narayan is the name of the deity enshrined in the Changu Narayan Temple, located near the Changunarayan Municipality in Bhaktapur. The temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples of the valley, and is believed to have been constructed in the 5th century. The temple is considered to be the oldest temple in which the shrine is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

About Kathmandu
Kathmandu is Nepal's ancient, colourful capital, a valley city of temples, stupas and royal squares and the gateway to the Himalaya.
Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old royal square, is crowded with pagoda-roofed temples and palaces, and nearby lives the Kumari, the city's living child goddess. Thamel, the travellers' quarter, is a tangle of lanes selling trekking gear, prayer flags and handicrafts, busy with cafés and rooftop restaurants.
Top-ranked sights in Kathmandu: Namche Bazaar, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square (Basantapur).
