Highlights

Helsinki is a gem for architecture enthusiasts. It is difficult, if not possible, to find another urban space that houses a wide range of architectural styles like Helsinki; neoclassical, gothic revival, (largest collection of) Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, Nordic classicism, modernism, functionalism, and contemporary styles in a compact city centre. Different historical periods left their marks on Helsinki, however it is easy to miss these great works of world renowned architects, from Engel to Saarinen, from Aalto to Siren and Revell in ordinary city tours. Join us in a great architecture tour with a small group to visit and enjoy the architectural wonders Helsinki offers, such as the National Library of Finland, Central Railway Station, new public library Oodi, Chapel of Silence, Kiasma modern art museum, The Rock Church, Finlandia Hall and more.

  • 5A unique look at Helsinki

Excellent tour. Lots of information to and very well organized to bring together architecture and historical context. One of the more interesting things to do in Helsinki besides the usual tourist attractions.

This is a special tour. You're not just getting a different view of a city, but you're learning about a place and it's people through the interests and focus of your group. It's a small group, a deep discussion and a fascinating experience. I'll never forget it.

  • 5One of the finest example of a central city tour.

guide "emek" was very well informed - on history, architecture, urban form, design, design detail, culture - as well as being social , friendly, patient, responsive to questions, and made visitors feel welcome. small group experience (6 people + emek) was ideal. pacing also ideal. he was the kind of person we could talk to all day... and were disappointed when it ended.

Emek was the BEST guide . This was our last day in Helsinki and we wanted to see this beautiful city from a different angle and Emek provided us with this experience. It was an amazing, we started with the old part - Helsinki cathedral and the old library and we ended with the new library. About Helsinki

Helsinki is Finland's capital on the Baltic, a compact seaside city of neoclassical squares, Art Nouveau streets, design shops and saunas.

The white neoclassical Helsinki Cathedral looks down on Senate Square, and the red-brick Uspenski Cathedral stands on a rocky headland to the east. Carl Ludvig Engel planned the city centre in the early nineteenth century after Finland passed to Russia, and Art Nouveau houses line the streets of Katajanokka and Eira. The Market Square on the harbour front has stalls of fish, berries and crafts, with the Old Market Hall nearby.

Top-ranked sights in Helsinki: Helsinki Senate Square (Senaatintori), Uspenski Cathedral, Helsinki Central Library Oodi.
