  4. Cut into the steep banks of the Luštica there are three tunnels. Although the tunnels were built during Yugoslavia, Luštica was an important military base during the First and Second World Wars as well as during the Cold War. The tunnels were used to hide and repair submarines and ships. The length of the tunnel is up to fifty meters, width 7 meters. The average depth of the tunnel is about eight meters, and the depth around the exit from the tunnel increases to thirty meters. Also in the submarine tunnel there is a whole complex of underground tunnels, in which there was technical equipment needed for servicing and repair of submarines.

  5. Perast is small baroque town of famous captains with beautiful museum and old houses. Although Perast had only 350 inhabitants, there were 18 churches and 19 palaces in it. The symbol of the city is the church of Saint Nicholas with its impressive 55 meter high bell tower, proudly above the building. Unfortunately, because of the lack of money, it was never finished.

    20 min

  6. Our Lady of the Rock is beautiful island made by people who used to live in Perast. The story says that two fishermen from Perast have found Our Lady Icon on the rock sticking out from the sea. People promised they will make island and church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rocks. And here it is, glorious church with museum on the small island. Our travelers will have opportunity to visit both church and museum.

  • 5Good tour but lacking educational aspects

Good tour, perfect amount of time to view all the sights. Wish we learned a bit more, the guide only spoke a few times during it, sharing brief historical facts.

  • 4Great tour, guide could have been better

The entire tour alongwith the view and places were very nice! Highly recommend. I felt the guide was more of a driver and he could have easily allowed more time in Perast since we ended the tour 10 mins before the scheduled tour. Still would recommend this tour, maybe the guide needs to be more trained.

  • 5The guide was easy to...

The guide was easy to understand. And when there’s a lot of people, swimming in the blue cave can be challenging.

  • 4Boat appeared relatively...

Boat appeared relatively new & in good shape. We took the English speaking tour & both captains spoke it well.

  • 5The thrill of the water!

Really good value for money. The boat was comfortable and speedy, of course. Everyone loved the swim in the Blue Caves, just the right amount of time. Perast is stunning and just the right amount of time to decide whether it would be worth a longer visit. The skipper had to make a detour and let some passengers off the boat who were not happy with the experience and he dealt with this professionally and extended the time of the trip so that the rest of us didn’t miss out. Thank you!

About Kotor

Kotor is a walled medieval town at the head of a winding bay in Montenegro, with mountain walls, Venetian palaces and a fortress high above.

Kotor lies at the end of the Bay of Kotor, a deep, winding inlet often described as a fjord, though it is really a drowned river canyon, with steep mountains rising directly from the water. The old town, a UNESCO site, is enclosed by Venetian-era walls and entered by the Sea Gate, and inside are small squares, a clock tower and the Romanesque cathedral of St Tryphon, consecrated in 1166.

Top-ranked sights in Kotor: Bay of Kotor, Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Skrpjela), Kotor Old Town.
