Itinerary

An adventure to the Mayan underworld where you’ll learn about Mayan mythology and caves formations. Minimum number of participants: 2. If you are traveling along, you can pay for two. ITINERARY 5:00 a.m. – We will meet you and pick you up at your hotel. 6:30 a.m. – Arrive at the Guatemala border and proceed through customs. 6:45 a.m. – Proceed through Belize customs. 7:15 a.m. – Drive to San Ignacio, Belize. 7:45 a.m. – Arrive in San Ignacio and drive to the ATM cave for our tour. 4:00 p.m. – Arrive back in San Ignacio and continue to the border crossing 4:30 p.m. – Depart from Belize and enter Guatemala. 6:00 p.m. – Arrive back at your hotel in Flores or Tikal. IMPORTANT INFORMATION You must be taller than 40 inches (1.02 meters) to go in the caves. It’s best if you know how to swim since there will be water inside the cave. About Flores

Flores is a small island town in Lake Petén Itzá in northern Guatemala, the main base for the Maya ruins of Tikal and the Petén rainforest.

Flores sits on a small island in Lake Petén Itzá, joined to the shore by a short causeway, with cobbled lanes circling a hilltop plaza and a cathedral. It stands on the site of Nojpetén, the last capital of the Itza Maya, which held out against the Spanish until 1697. The island is ringed with small hotels and lakeside restaurants, and boats cross to lakeshore villages.
