5Great experience from Kotatieva
It was the second time ice skating in my life and it was really fun and safe for beginners. We were lucky enough to have nice cold temperatures so the forest trail opened up and it was so fun to go through. The sled was really fun, and we ended the day roasting marshmallows on the fire. Highly recommend.
5Amazing day out in Lapland
The experience is amazing. We love the stake in forest, ice hockey, sled and snow shoeing. Would definitely recommend to others.
5Amazing day, shout out to Majo.
An amazing day out, well worth the money and Majo made it even better, as well as his colleague. They were very welcoming and friendly and made this visit even better, which I didn't know was possible!;
5Absolutely worth it !
We had so much fun! Especially with the sledging. Such a beautiful place 😍
5Ice skating through the forest
Amazing experience completely worth the price! We did the ice skating and snow shoeing, but had to leave early as we had other things planned. But would have stayed longer as there were more to do!
5One of my favourite days
I loved the setup of this site - easy shuttle to and from the city centre, tickets on a phone exchanged for wrist bands, the staff were friendly, supportive when you needed and hands off if you just wanted to get on with it (health and safety is very different here - so much more laissez faire and works seemingly on the assumption that people will be sensible, which is a joy because they actually are!), equipment was fantastic - two types of skates in various sizes, two sizes of metal skate supports (zimmer frames!) and various skating seats (for kids or my husband, who could not get the hang of skating at all, so my daughter and I took turns pushing him around!); helmets in various sizes - all clean and in good condition; plenty of mats for the toboggan run; reindeer were docile and wooden sleighs were lovely; plenty of wood and toasting forks for the fire. The site itself was large enough that it didn’t feel crowded, snow in great condition, decent food and drinks in the café (try the very light doughnuts alongside your hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows - not cheap but a nice treat), good storage (NB open, IKEA style shelving) for stuff. After 3.5 hours, my pre-teen had had enough & my husband was cold(!), so we caught the next shuttle back. I love the outdoorsy stuff in Rovaniemi and this was certainly one I would choose again and recommend to anyone looking for something similar.

About Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi, on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, is a river city known for Santa Claus Village, northern lights, reindeer and deep snow.
Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, set where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers join, just south of the Arctic Circle. The town was rebuilt after being burnt in the Second World War, and its street plan, drawn by the architect Alvar Aalto, is said to echo a reindeer's antlers. Arktikum, a museum and science centre, tells the story of life in the Arctic, and a lit footbridge known as the Lumberjack's Candle crosses the river.
