About Salalah
Salalah is the main city of Dhofar in southern Oman, a palm-fringed coastal plain known for its monsoon-green summers, frankincense and ancient ruins.
Salalah is the main city of Dhofar, in the far south of Oman, on a coastal plain between the Arabian Sea and a wall of hills. Coconut and banana plantations line the roads, an unusual sight on the Arabian Peninsula. The city was the birthplace of the late Sultan Qaboos, and a mosque bearing his name stands in the town.
