Visitors can enjoy the natural landscapes including lofty hills, tall bamboo bushes, clear streams and flourishing woods. It is also a great place for visitors to enjoy different types of the Chinese characters. Additionally, visitors can buy some paintings and calligraphies in a shop there at a reasonable price as gifts for families or friends.

About Hangzhou

Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, is a city of lakes and tea hills centred on West Lake, with temples, pagodas and a past as an imperial capital.

Hangzhou grew around West Lake, a shallow, willow-fringed lake ringed by hills, causeways and pagodas that has inspired Chinese poets and painters for centuries and is a World Heritage landscape. The city was the capital of the Southern Song dynasty from the 12th century, and it marks the southern end of the Grand Canal. Boats cross the lake to small islands, and the Su and Bai Causeways are favourite walking routes.
