About Puebla
Puebla, in the central highlands of Mexico, is a colonial city of tiled façades and baroque churches beneath snow-capped volcanoes.
Puebla's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is laid out on a grid around the zócalo, with a cathedral whose towers are among the tallest in Mexico, arcaded buildings and façades covered in glazed Talavera tiles. The Rosary Chapel in the Santo Domingo church is covered in gilded plaster, and the Palafoxiana Library, founded in 1646, is among the oldest in the Americas, with shelves of antique books.
