Itinerário

  1. During this trip you will get to know the scenic and culturally varied interior of Turkey. Along the way, learn everything you ever wanted to know about the country from your private guide. For amateur photographers, there is always an opportunity for the perfect picture; maybe against the backdrop of the Taurus Mountains or a cotton field ready for harvest. The highlights of the trip are of course a walk over the sintered terraces of Pamukkale, a swim in an ancient swimming pool and a stroll through the Roman spa town of Hierapolis. Your Vianobilis team wishes you a pleasant journey with plenty of inspiration!

  2. The journey takes you to places of old cultural sites from the times of the Lycians, Carians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, first Christians and Seljuks. Hierapolis (ancient Greek "Holy City", occasionally Hieropolis) was an ancient Greek city in the Phrygia region in Asia Minor. Even if the city, as a presumably old Cybelekult shows, probably existed earlier, the oldest evidence comes from the 3rd century BC. BC, when it was newly founded by Antiochus II, as well as its neighboring city Laodikeia on the Lycus. Older traces of settlement are covered by layers of travertine. landmarks • Odeon from the time of Hadrian the agora the nymphaeum • City gates south & Domitian the main cobbled street • Temple buildings Roman baths (some of which were converted into religious buildings in early Christian times) • the necropolis Necropolis More than 1200 graves lie in front of the north gate of Hierapolis. They belong to the largest ancient city of the dead in Asia Minor.

  3. Only about 5 kilometers outside of Denizli province and about 11 kilometers south of Hierapolis, a visit to the ancient city is an ideal alternative to the overcrowded Pamukkale. The river Lykus, called Çürüksu ırmak by the locals, was a tributary of the meander and formed the basis of life for the historically ancient city of Laodikeia, whose spelling also appears with Laodicea.

  4. Bathing possibility in Kleopatra Termalbad.

About Side

Side is a small Turkish Mediterranean resort on an ancient peninsula, with Roman and Greek temples, a theatre and golden beaches on both sides.

Side was an important port of ancient Pamphylia, and its ruins stand on a small peninsula where the town and harbour now are. The Roman theatre, one of the largest in the region, rises behind the town, and the Temples of Apollo and Athena, with their columns, stand on the seafront. A Roman bath houses the Side Museum, and the old gate and walls lead into the village.

Top-ranked sights in Side: Manavgat Waterfall (Manavgat Selalesi), Temple of Apollo, Side Museum (Side Muzesi).
