We will enjoy a relaxing catamaran sailing along the historic and challenging Beagle Canal. One of the objectives will be to obtain the typical postcard with the lighthouse. We set sail from the local tourist pier by touring the wide Ushuaia Bay, watching the city. We will sail around Bird Island where we appreciate the Fueguin birdlife watching Skúas, Black-Brown Albatrosses, Steam Ducks, Cauquens, Cooking Gulls and Grey Seagulls; and the Isle of Wolves where we will see specimens of sea lions of one and two hairs. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago. When you arrive at Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse (The Illuminators or also the colloquially misnamed Lighthouse of the End of the World), you will see colonies of Imperial Cormorants and Rock Cormorants. From 1 October to 31 March: sail 09:30. From 1 April to 30 September: sail 10:00. ⏱ Duration: approx 3 hours. Presentation : 30 min before sailing time.

About Ushuaia

Ushuaia, on the Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego, is often called the southernmost city in the world, a port ringed by snowy peaks.

Ushuaia sits on a narrow shelf between the Beagle Channel and the Martial mountains, in the Argentine half of Tierra del Fuego. It began as a mission and later became a penal colony, and the old prison, now a museum, tells that story alongside the maritime history of the far south. Painted houses climb the slope, and the harbour is where expedition ships leave for Antarctica.
