Surfing in Miyazaki is the perfect way to experience Japan’s laid-back surf culture, whether you’re stepping on a board for the first time or looking to refine your technique. This 180-minute guided surf lesson starts with a thorough safety briefing, followed by easy-to-understand instruction on paddling, positioning, and core surfing fundamentals. After practicing on the sand, you’ll head into the water to apply what you’ve learned, with your instructor nearby offering guidance and encouragement. Midway through the session, enjoy a short break and feedback review, where you’ll receive personalized tips to help improve your balance, timing, and wave selection before getting back in the ocean. All equipment is included, and you’ll have access to convenient facilities such as hot showers. With a strong focus on safety, progression, and fun, this lesson offers an unforgettable surf experience along Miyazaki’s beautiful coastline—perfect for creating lasting beach memories.

We meet at the Aoshima Beach car park at the pre-arranged time agreed the day before. After assessing the ocean conditions, we head to the beach to begin the lesson.
