The most picturesque time to see the wallabies on the beach at Cape Hillsborough is at Sunrise. Get up close and personal with these iconic Australian marsupials, waking up early is worth it! Learn and reflect on our role in preserving and protecting Australia's natural beauty with your local guide. We arrive at the national park at dawn to catch a glimpse of the wallabies that come to the shoreline to feed on mangrove seed pods washed up by the tide. Spend time walking along the beach and taking in all the beauty of the sunrise. Our air-conditioned bus allows a comfortable adventure in a small group environment as we take you to explore the Cape Hillsborough National Park, where the rainforest meets the sea.

5Wallabies Tour - great start to the day!
Nathan was great and very informative. Thanks again.
5Kangaroos and Wallabies at the beach at dawn
Expectations met, we met at 3am and arrived after an hour drive while the animals were already at the beach and we observed them until they left after their breakfast after 5am. Than we walked to the lookouts in the national park and had our breakfast at 7am. Thanks to our lovely tourguide Michelle. I would definitely do it again🦘🙌🏽
5Sunrise with the wallabies at the mackay adventure lodge
Great trip, and definitely worth the stop. The hostel is lovely where Emilie and Michelle were so attentive, making sure we had the best stay possible.
2Not advisible kangaroo trip
This trip is far, far to expensive for what you get. It is just a taxi drive to the beach where the kangeroos are, with a very simple breakfest after feeding the kangeroos. We where back in town 8 am in stead of the anounced 9 am. It is not well organised
5Fab tour!
The trip was fantastic from the simple booking to the efficient pick up and the amazing knowledge and tour! Thanks Reuben! We had an awesome time!! :)
5Early morning Tour is worth it.
This is a nice Tour. Michelle is very knowledgeable and a great communicator. The day was cloudy and a little windy so it was quite dark for photos but the wallabies and kangaroos still treated us with a visit. I enjoyed my morning there. A short hike up to the lookout was very nice and Michelle spitting out facts about the surrounding was very interesting. A little snacky breakfast was also provided.

About Mackay
Mackay is a sugar-growing city on Queensland's central coast, with art deco streets, a river lined with parks, and rainforest and beach reserves close by.
Mackay stands on the Pioneer River, where flat fields of sugar cane run to the sea, and it is often called the sugar capital of Australia. A cyclone in 1918 destroyed much of the centre, and it was rebuilt in the fashionable styles of the 1920s and 1930s, so that many art deco facades survive along its main streets. Parks and a promenade follow the river.
