Points forts
Usuzan is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan having last erupted in 2000. This volcanic mountain completely transformed after the eruption and the scars can still be seen today. On this hike you will be able to see Usuzan's volcanic activity with the many fumaroles that jet out from the craters. Starting off in woodland, you will ascend through different types of forests up to the 500-metre-high summit where you will be greeted with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, Lake Toya and Mt. Yotei. Your guide will teach you about the the nature that you will see and explain about the history of Usuzan and it's effects on the surrounding area. About Noboribetsu
Noboribetsu is a hot-spring resort town in south-west Hokkaido, beside a steaming volcanic valley known as Hell Valley.
Noboribetsu Onsen sits on the edge of Shikotsu-Toya National Park on Hokkaido's Pacific side, between Sapporo and Hakodate, and is the island's best-known hot-spring resort. At its head lies Jigokudani, Hell Valley, a crater slope of bare yellow and grey rock where sulphur steam vents and bubbling pools make the air smell of eggs, with a boardwalk crossing the valley.
