The cave is famous for its huge halls, underground lakes and rivers where you can sail on boats and admire the magnificent views of the cave. And the whole cave is stylized to this myth.

The palace complex occupies more than 2000 square meters. Geguti was first mentioned in historical sources of the 12th century. It should be noted that the fortress and the halls were built in several stages. The first stage covers the period from the 8th to 9th centuries.

  • 5Great and knowledgable guide. I would definitely choose again on a repeat visit.

A pleasant and knowledgeable guide, who was especially interesting, told us about the history and other stories of the places that we visited. Answered all the questions that we had. During the stay, we also booked other tours with guide services, and with this guide, we had the best experience.

About Kutaisi

Kutaisi is one of Georgia's oldest cities, a former royal capital on the Rioni River with a ruined cathedral, hillside monasteries and a covered market.

Kutaisi, the main city of Imereti in western Georgia, was once the capital of the kingdom of Western Georgia and is linked by legend with Aia, the land of Jason and the Golden Fleece. The Rioni River runs through the centre, and the Colchis Fountain, with gilded animals, stands on one of its squares. The Bagrati Cathedral, an eleventh-century church on a hilltop, was ruined by the Ottomans in 1692 and rebuilt in modern times.
