Itinéraire

  1. Nara Park is a famous public park located in the city of Nara, Japan. Established in 1880, the park is one of the oldest in Japan and is home to some of the country's most iconic cultural and natural sites. The park is particularly well-known for its free-roaming deer, considered sacred messengers of the Shinto gods. Visitors can buy "shika senbei" (deer crackers) to feed them, and the deer have learned to bow to people in exchange for food, making the experience especially charming.

Founded in the 8th century by Emperor Shōmu, it was originally constructed as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples in Japan and has played a central role in the spread of Buddhism. Tōdai-ji is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Japan's Buddhist culture. Its immense scale and historical significance make it a must-see destination in Nara.

About Osaka

Top-ranked sights in Osaka: Tsutenkaku Tower, Osaka Castle (Osaka-jo), Nara Park (Nara Koen).
