Points forts

This experience unfolds as a natural flow while walking across Miyajima rather than being defined by a fixed duration. It lasts about three hours, yet the sense of time gradually fades. After the ferry crossing, the host quietly shapes the rhythm and the walk proceeds at an unhurried pace through selected areas of the island. There are no historical lectures or structured sightseeing explanations — attention rests on walking itself, on sound, light, and subtle changes in atmosphere. Silence is not required, but a natural quietness emerges. The experience gently opens into a livelier part of the island, where it comes to a close, and guests are free to continue exploring or return by ferry in their own time.

Itinéraire

  1. Participants will experience a quiet, guided walk across Miyajima, beginning with a ferry crossing and continuing on foot through different parts of the island. The experience focuses on moving through the landscape at a calm pace, passing through streets, wooded paths, and areas near the shrine without formal explanations or structured sightseeing. Rather than learning historical facts, guests are invited to notice changes in atmosphere, sound, and rhythm as they walk. The walk gradually returns to a livelier area of the island, where the experience naturally comes to a close, allowing guests to continue exploring or return by ferry at their own pace.

About Hiroshima

Hiroshima, on Japan's Seto Inland Sea, is a rebuilt river city whose Peace Memorial Park and museum recall the atomic bombing of 1945.

Hiroshima spreads across the delta of the Ōta River, whose channels, bridges and trams give the city an open feel. The atomic bomb of 6 August 1945 destroyed most of it. The Peace Memorial Park beside the river holds the Atomic Bomb Dome, a ruined building left standing and listed by UNESCO, the Peace Memorial Museum and the Children's Peace Monument.

Top-ranked sights in Hiroshima: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Miyajima Island (Itsukushima).
