5Great experience
Knowledgeable guide who delivered the tour with plenty of humour. It was done in a relaxed pace and he made sure that everybody could follow and hear clearly. He also gave plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We recommend with no hesitation.
4Skopje walking tour
Walking tour was mostly flat , but has some uneven paving , guide was great speaking loud and clear & had great knowledge
5Fantastic
A fantastic tour, Alexander knowledge was great and his passion was amazing but what I liked the most was his frank and honest guidance. Can't recommend this tour enough when visiting Skopje, thank you.
5Fantastic tour with Aleksandar
First morning in Skopje and signed up late for Aleksandar’s excellent tour. He showed us all the main sights of the city while also giving us some history of (North) Macedonia, Yugoslavia and the Balkans. Great guy, very funny and perfect English, along with numerous other languages. Highly recommended.
5The honest view of the city, country and changing of your perspective
This tour completely changed my perspective on tour guides. The guide is exceptionally knowledgeable—not just about the history of the Balkans, but history and general knowledge across the board. His English is excellent, and he also speaks German. He can even break down the fascinating history of words that ended up in this region, including their Greek, French, Arabic, and Turkish roots. You get a genuinely authentic picture of the city. You can ask him literally anything—whether it's about history, languages, local demographics, or historical migrations—and you’ll get a deep, accurate explanation. What makes the experience even better is his fantastic interaction with the group, along with his healthy, open-minded worldview. On top of that, he gives excellent local tips and points you toward the best spots in town. I highly recommend booking his tour as soon as you arrive in the city!
5Amazing Guide, Amazing Tour
We had such a great walking tour with Aleksandar! He was super energetic, honest and really easy to listen to. His knowledge goes way beyond just Skopje and Macedonia. He shared so many interesting facts and stories that we honestly kept learning new things the whole time. We asked A LOT of questions and he answered every single one properly and with so much knowledge. You can really tell he genuinely loves what he does. Definitely recommend him if you’re visiting Skopje!

About Skopje
Skopje is the capital of North Macedonia, a Balkan city on the Vardar River with an Ottoman bazaar, a stone bridge and many statues.
Skopje straddles the Vardar River in a wide valley, its two halves joined by the fifteenth-century Stone Bridge. On the north bank the Old Bazaar is a web of lanes lined with workshops, cafés and mosques, with the Kale fortress above it. On the south bank, Macedonia Square is dominated by a giant statue of a horseman, popularly taken for Alexander the Great, amid the monuments, bridges and neoclassical façades added in the early 2010s. An earthquake in 1963 destroyed much of the city.
Top-ranked sights in Skopje: Skopje Kale Fortress (Skopsko Kale), Memorial House of Mother Teresa (Spomen Kuka na Majka Tereza), Skopje Old Bazaar.
