St John Co cathedral Guided Tour

Step inside St. John’s Co-Cathedral with me, Ġanni, your licensed Maltese guide, and discover the stories behind one of Malta’s greatest treasures. Together, we’ll explore the magnificent Baroque interior and uncover the history of the Knights of St. John, their chapels, monuments and extraordinary marble tombs. I’ll bring to life the Grand Masters, the Knights and the artists who transformed their conventual church into the masterpiece we see today. A highlight of our visit is Caravaggio. We’ll discover his dramatic life in Malta and stand before The Beheading of St. John the Baptist—his largest painting and the only work he ever signed—as well as St. Jerome Writing. Rather than simply pointing out what you can see, I’ll share the stories, personalities and details behind the art and architecture, giving you a deeper understanding of the Knights and their remarkable legacy in Malta.

Meeting point

Meet outside the Main Entrance of St. John’s Co-Cathedral in St. John’s Square (not the Visitors’ Entrance). I’ll be holding a black flag with the white 8-pointed Maltese Cross. After a short introduction, we’ll walk together to the Visitors’ Entrance and enter through the fast lane.
