About St. George's
St George's, the capital of Grenada, is a hillside harbour town of red-tiled roofs, colourful warehouses and old forts around a horseshoe-shaped bay.
St George's wraps around the Carenage, a horseshoe-shaped natural harbour lined with colourful old warehouses, fishing boats and yachts. Streets climb steeply from the waterfront past churches and red-tiled roofs, and a tunnel through the ridge links the inner harbour with the seafront on the other side. Fort George, with its cannon on the headland, looks over the harbour and the open sea, and the Grenada National Museum occupies an old French barracks.
