The Mosta Rotunda, also known as the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady, is a stunning neoclassical church located in the town of Mosta, Malta. Completed in 1860, it features one of the largest domes in Europe, which is an iconic symbol of Maltese architecture. The interior is richly decorated with ornate altars, beautiful frescoes, and a prominent statue of the Madonna. The church is famous for an extraordinary event during World War II when a bomb fell through its dome but failed to explode, which is commemorated in its exhibits. About Mellieħa
Mellieħa is a hillside village at the north-western end of Malta, above one of the island's longest sandy beaches, with sea views towards Gozo.
Mellieħa stands on a ridge at the north-western end of Malta, the last sizeable village before the ferry crossing to Gozo. Close to its parish church, a sanctuary to the Virgin Mary that began as a natural cave has drawn pilgrims for centuries, and the Red Tower, a seventeenth-century watchtower, stands on a nearby hill. At the foot of the ridge, Għadira Bay curves around a wide, shallow beach, one of the longest on the island.
