Itinerary

  1. Lined with traditional houses and artisan workshops, Sharambeyan Street takes you hundreds of years back in time. Situated within a national park, the area, popularly known as "Little Switzerland" for its forested hills and picturesque houses made of stone and wood, remains home of many Armenian visual artists, musicians, and filmmakers.

    30 min

  2. Haghartsin Monastery is a stunning medieval architectural masterpiece nestled in the lush forests. Built in the 13th century, this historic complex is renowned for its intricate stone carvings, including exquisite khachkars (cross-stones), and its serene atmosphere.

    50 min

  3. Ijevan Wine-Brandy Factory is one of the first wineries in Armenia. It was founded in 1951 in the city of Ijevan, Tavush region, in the valley of Aghstev and Spitak Jur Rivers. Ijevan is surrounded by mountains covered with deciduous forests, which are sometimes replaced by alpine meadows. Such a favorable geographical location and excellent climatic conditions make the products of the factory even more unique. The factory produces high-quality brandies, grape and fruit wines, sparkling wines, vodkas, juices and a wide range of canned products.

    2 hAdmission included

  4. Whilst staying in Armenia, you simply cannot miss the opportunity of visiting one of the country’s most renowned landmarks – the beautiful lake Sevan. Merely an hour’s drive from the capital city of Yerevan, Sevan is situated at the height of 1900m above sea level and surrounded by a vast chain of mountains. The tour begins by climbing a flight of stairs to the Sevan peninsula – a pleasant morning work-out that will compensate itself with an unforgettable panoramic view of the lake from the top. We will also visit the monastery of Sevanavank, built by the princess Mariam to honor the life of her deceased husband in the 9th century. Sevanavank is also home to one of the most beautiful Amenaprkich (all savior) Khachkars of Armenia. This is one of the 13 rarest cross-stones depicting Jesus.

  • 5Must-visit nature spot in Armenia - Lake Sevan "Jewel of Armenia"

Must-visit nature spot in Armenia - Lake Sevan "Jewel of Armenia" Lake Sevan took my breath away. Sitting at 1,900 meters above sea level, the water is so clear and vast that it feels like an inland sea, not a lake. The air is crisp, the mountains in the distance create a stunning backdrop, and the silence is only broken by the waves. Lake Sevan is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world, and you feel that scale the moment you arrive. 940 square kilometers of water surrounded by volcanic mountains. It’s surreal. What blew my mind: The landscape: The contrast is unreal. Deep blue water, black volcanic rock, green meadows, and snow-capped peaks in the distance. It changes color every hour. I spent the afternoon walking along the shore, dipping my feet in the surprisingly refreshing water, and watching the light change on the surface. It’s not just beautiful scenery — there’s a deep sense of peace here. You also must visit Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula. The view from there over the entire lake is unforgettable. Sevanavank Monastery: Perched on a peninsula, these 874 AD churches feel like they’re guarding the lake. The panoramic view from the top is easily the best in Armenia. The energy: There’s something deeply peaceful here. Locals come to relax, families picnic, artists paint. It’s not touristy. It’s real. If you want to experience the real soul of Armenia outside of Yerevan, come to Sevan. It’s nature, history, and tranquility all in one place. 5 stars.

About Yerevan

Yerevan is Armenia's pink-stoned capital, a city of wide squares, café terraces and museums, with Mount Ararat standing on its southern skyline.

The city grew around Erebuni, a fortress founded in 782 BC, though most of today's centre was built in the Soviet era from the soft pink and orange tuff that earned Yerevan its nickname, the Pink City. Republic Square is the hub, framed by government buildings and museums. The Cascade, a giant stairway of terraces and sculpture, climbs a hillside, and the Matenadaran holds a famous collection of medieval manuscripts.

Top-ranked sights in Yerevan: Republic Square, Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, Matenadaran (Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts).
