Itinerary

  1. Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion, Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who, before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon, over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century. From the monastery one can admire the stunning view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

  2. Spread among the mountains, Azat Reservoir brings water and sky together, creating one of Armenia's most impressive and peaceful views.

    20 min

  3. Garni temple, which towers over a triangular cape, is the unique survived example of heathen culture in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles. King Trdat The First ordered building the temple in the first century AD and dedicated it to the God of Sun. After adopting Christianity in 301, the pagan temple lost its significance and the fortress of Garni became the summer residence of the kings. Nowadays the ruins of the royal palace and the bathroom with a stunning mosaic work can be found near the temple.

    1 h

  4. Geghard monastery is the unsurpassable masterpiece of the 13th century Armenian architecture. Some of the churches of the complex are masterfully hewn in a huge rock. From the outset the complex was called Ayrivank (cave monastery), later it was renamed Geghard (lance) as the lance, used by the roman soldier to sting Jesus Christ's side, had been kept in this monastery for many centuries. Due to its construction, Geghardavank serves the best place for singing spiritual songs. The complex is rich in subtle sculptural embellishments and many striking khachkars (cross-stones). The site is included in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

  • 5Worth it

We really enjoyed our tour! It’s worth the price. Customer service is top notch especially our driver trying his best to explain everything. We just didn’t like our last stop which is the arch because there was an ongoing wedding photoshoot so we didn’t manage to take photos that much. But overall we really loved it! Thank you Hyur and to Sir Alexander our best driver ❤️

  • 5Fantastic private tour

We had a fantastic day in July 2026 with our tour guide Samvel and driver Arakel. We took a private tour to see Khor Virap, Azat Reservoir, Garni, Geghard, Arch of Charents and only booked this a few days before following a recommendation from a family member about Hyur. The locations were amazing and provided a perfect mix to experience Armenia's scenery and history. But Samvel really made the day by talking us through the histories, culture and his own personal experiences in a clear and engaging way. For my dad and I who were exploring our Armenian roots, it was ideal. We were grateful for him and Arakel's patience in taking the tour at the pace we wanted, including stopping off if we wanted to take a photo or saw something interesting. The lunch was a particularly nice stop-off at a family-run restaurant in a quiet garden setting, and the day was made even better by coinciding with Vardavar so we were entertained by kids throwing water over the car! We'd fully recommend Hyur and Samvel and Arakel particularly for the private tour.

  • 5Best Trip in Armenia!

Fantastic tour! We‘ve been with a small group of our own and we had a perfect time with our guide Arev and our driver Hayk. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the ancient history of Armenia and the sights we saw were so beautiful! Our highlight was Arev singing at the Ghegard monastery - what a voice & experience!

Absolutely amazing. I cannot believe how nice it was. Arev was the best guide of all time, perfect amount of information, wonderfully funny and knowledgeable. Hayk was such a good driver. Usually I always get motion sickness but his driving soothed my soul. What a team these two are! Thank you! Also beautiful singing by Arev! :-)

About Yerevan

Yerevan is Armenia's pink-stoned capital, a city of wide squares, café terraces and museums, with Mount Ararat standing on its southern skyline.

The city grew around Erebuni, a fortress founded in 782 BC, though most of today's centre was built in the Soviet era from the soft pink and orange tuff that earned Yerevan its nickname, the Pink City. Republic Square is the hub, framed by government buildings and museums. The Cascade, a giant stairway of terraces and sculpture, climbs a hillside, and the Matenadaran holds a famous collection of medieval manuscripts.

Top-ranked sights in Yerevan: Republic Square, Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, Matenadaran (Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts).
