You’ll find street stalls and markets selling fried spiders, crickets, larvae, and various insects. Some vendors also have live insects.
This is an archaeological site (pre-Angkorian) in Kampong Thom province. It’s known for its temple ruins set in forested surroundings. As part of your trip, include time to walk around the ruins, see the ancient brick temples, and enjoy the forested ambiance.
Kampong Kdei is famous for an ancient bridge — the “Kampong Kdei Bridge” (part of the old Khmer roads). Walking over the bridge, viewing the river, local life, and possibly nearby villages is rewarding.
It’s one of the floating/stilted villages on Tonlé Sap Lake, near Siem Reap City. You’ll travel by boat through the village and see how locals live on stilts or floating houses, fish farms, narrow canals, and mangrove forests.

About Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh is Cambodia's riverside capital, where a gilded royal palace, French-era boulevards and markets sit beside memorials to the Khmer Rouge years.
The Royal Palace, with its tall pointed spires, and the neighbouring Silver Pagoda, whose floor is laid with silver tiles, stand close to the riverfront promenade where the Mekong and Tonlé Sap meet. Wat Phnom, a small hill temple, gave the city its name, and the National Museum, in a red Khmer-style building, holds a major collection of Angkorian sculpture. Art Deco Central Market and the busy Russian Market are good places to wander.
Top-ranked sights in Phnom Penh: Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), Choeung Ek Genocidal Center (Choeung Ek Killing Fields), Royal Palace.
