Itinerary

The tour starts early to catch the best views of the island, between 6:00 am to 6:30am. We will inform you the exact timing as soon the tour is confirmed. We will use a tourist bus or truck in order to get to the island.

Once at Bartolome, you will take a short hike to the island’s highest viewpoint (approximately 115 meters above sea level), a spectacular 360º view of the archipelago. The hike is short and easy and offers plenty of nature to admire. Some of the vegetation in Bartolome includes Chamaesyce spp, Tiquilia nesiotica and Tiquilia fusca. From the top and east part of the viewpoint you can catch a sight of some spatter cones, formed by drops of thick lava. These cones are known as parasite cones and add a dream-like appearance to the island. After enjoying the panoramic view, you will descend to enjoy the Lunch Box. After the snorkel activity, we will return to Puerto Ayora around 5:30pm.

About Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is the most populated island of the Galápagos, a volcanic island of lava tunnels, giant tortoises and sea lions on the harbour front.

Santa Cruz lies at the centre of the Galápagos Islands, about a thousand kilometres west of mainland Ecuador. Puerto Ayora is its main town, where sea lions doze on benches and pelicans wait at the fish market. The Charles Darwin Research Station, on the edge of town, runs breeding programmes for giant tortoises, and a walking path leads to Tortuga Bay, a long white beach where marine iguanas feed on the rocks.
