Itinerary

  1. Lamp lit by night and referred to as "the silent city", Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as its cultural and religious treasures.

    45 min

  2. Adjoining the old capital city, Mdina, Rabat's main attractions are the Roman Villa, with its excellent remains of Roman mosaic pavements dating back to the first century B.C., and St. Paul's Catacombs, a complex of inter-linked underground Roman cemeteries.

    45 min

  3. Located on Malta’s western coast, at 253 metres above sea-level Dingli Cliffs are the highest part of the Island. The cliffs are a popular attraction for tourists visiting Malta, heading there for a peaceful walk with boasting views of Filfla and the Mediterranean sea.

    30 min

  4. The Mosta Dome is perhaps the most impressive church in Malta, with its massive rotunda, that is the third largest in Europe.

    30 min

  5. Souvenir shops, handmade ornaments, soaps, jewellery shops and glass blowing demos ...

    30 min

  6. The location of this fascinating natural grotto combines with sunlight and the surrounding chain of caves to reflect the phosphorescent colours of the submerged flora and the deep dark shade of blue of the sea.

    30 min

  7. The Ħaġar Qim temples are beautiful, a masterpiece of prehistoric masonry, and considering they were built between 3600 and 3200 BC, still very well preserved.

    45 min

  8. This fishing village is popular for a daily open-air market, offering a selection of the finest fish restaurants on the island and for the peaceful walks around the coast and harbour.

    30 min

  9. The capital city is abundantly rich in sites to see and explore, intriguing historical buildings around every corner: votive statues, niches, fountains and coats of arms high up on parapets. Narrow side streets are full of tiny quaint shops and cafés, while Valletta's main streets are lined with larger international branded shops.

About Valletta

Valletta is Malta's tiny walled capital on a rocky peninsula, built by the Knights of St John with baroque palaces, a deep harbour and a Caravaggio.

Valletta was founded in 1566 by the Order of St John, a year after the Great Siege of Malta, and laid out on a grid of streets on a narrow peninsula between two harbours. The whole city is a World Heritage site. St John's Co-Cathedral looks plain outside but is gilded within, and holds Caravaggio's Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. The Grand Master's Palace and the Upper Barrakka Gardens look over Grand Harbour.

Top-ranked sights in Valletta: Upper Barrakka Gardens, St. John's Co-Cathedral (Kon-Katidral ta' San Gwann), Grand Master's Palace.
