1. We will take you to the ‘Zaanse Schans’ our famous open-air windmill museum with five still working windmills and a small typical Dutch 40 house community made of green timber. The village is located on the banks of the river the Zaan where you can still see and admire the old way of wind-power to grind grain, spices and artist’s color.

2. De Simonehoeve is a traditional cheese farm and clog factory located near Volendam. Here you will get a free guided tour and discover how cheese and clogs are made! In the shop you can have a go at walking on clogs, and taste the delicious cheeses.

3. Volendam is a popular place in the Netherlands, well-known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing still worn by some residents. As a result of its isolated location and the tough vitality of the fishermen, this village preserved its character for six centuries. The characteristic small houses, which together with the canals and the drawbridges form the most picturesque spots, presents the visitor an atmosphere of geniality and romance.

4. Marken is a centuries old peninsula, once surrounded by the Gouwzee (shire sea) and the Markermeer (Marker Lake). Today, Marken is connected with the mainland by a dike, but until 1957 Marken was an isolated island.
