The village is located on the banks of the river the Zaan where you can still see and admire the old way of wind-power to grind grain, spices and artist’s color.

2. De Simonehoeve is a traditional cheese farm and clog factory located near Volendam. Here you will get a free guided tour and discover how cheese and clogs are made! In the shop you can have a go at walking on clogs, and taste the delicious cheeses.
