The guide will brief you in history of one of the youngest capital cities, and states of Europe, Bratislava & Slovakia. Take in the stunning Micheal’s Gate. See the palace where the Hungarian Parliament used to meet. End the walking portion of your tour at the gates of St. Martin’s Cathedral. About Bratislava
Bratislava is Slovakia's capital on the Danube, a small city of a hilltop castle, a pedestrian old town, quirky statues and vineyards close by.
Bratislava lies on both banks of the Danube close to the Austrian and Hungarian borders, about an hour from Vienna. Its castle, a white four-towered building on a ridge, looks over the river and the old town below. The pedestrian old town has pastel baroque palaces, the Michael's Gate tower, and St Martin's Cathedral, where Hungarian kings were crowned from the 16th to the 19th century, when Pozsony, as it was then known, was the Hungarian capital.
