Your trip starts with the hotel pick-up by a private driver (Ukrainian-speaking, basic English). The distance from Kyiv to Missile Base is 297 km (184 mi) and the road takes approx. 3,5-4 hours. Once you arrive to the museum, your guided tour will start. Explore an indoor exposition of the museum dedicated to nuclear forces of the USSR. Discover an open-air exposition of military equipment and learn about the multilevel protection system of the base. See an inactive missile silo and 30-meter long SS-18 “Satan” missile that is the highlight of the whole exposition. Later, descent down 11-floor deep command center. That was a working place of Soviet officers and a top-secret object. You can press a famous «red button» and hear the signal of siren. Over 50 years ago, it would have meant launch of nuclear missile. Luckily, none of the missiles was ever launched there. After a 2-hour tour of the museum, travel back to Kyiv, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel.

About Kiev
Kiev, also spelt Kyiv, is a green city of golden-domed churches, tree-lined hills and broad boulevards on the high bank of the Dnieper.
