Snaefellsnes National Park tour from Reykjavik - personalized experience with local meal included. Group size is 17 max. This fascinating journey is culminating right about the halfway point at the mighty 1,450 meter Snæfellsjökull volcano glacier - made famous in the novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth''. After crossing the Hvalfjörður through a 6 km underwater tunnel, you will visit small towns and fishing villages, see spectacular bird cliffs by the sea and beaches. On the northern side, we also stop by the picturesque church-shaped mountain Kirkjufell, which is accompanied by a wonderful little waterfall on the other side of the road. At Djúpalónssandur beach (may not be accessible in winter) we will allow those who feel up to it to try strength with the Stones of Trial. The whole journey of Snæfellsnes peninsula circles around Snæfellsjökull glacier volcano which you can admire from several stops on the tour. Please note: the tour does not go on the glacier itself.

Itinerário
One of the first stops is to admire huge basalt columns called Gerduberg, they are so perfectly shaped into hexagons so they barely seem natural. (may not be accessible in winter)
Visit Ytri Tunga Beach, a hidden gem known for its resident seal colonies. Observe these playful creatures in their natural habitat and capture memorable photos.
You will visit this charming fishing village and admire the unusual sea rock formations with a lot of bird life.
Lunch in a local restaurant - the best place in the whole of Iceland to try the lamb soup!
The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is often called ‘Miniature Iceland’ as basically every type of natural feature that makes the country famous can be found here, including waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, lava fields, cliffs and wildlife.
Kirkjufellfoss is located by the Kirkjufell mountain (it is the same stop).
You will also stop by picturesque church-shaped mountain Kirkjufell which is accompanied by a wonderful little waterfall on the other side of the road. This place has become one of the top bucket list items for visitors coming to Iceland!
At Djupalonssandur beach (may not be accessible in winter) we will allow those who feel up to it to try strength with the Stones of Trial.
