Your professional local guide will show you how it works from start to finish: drilling the hole, setting up the gear and fishing safely on the ice. We’ll also take a warm break with a hot drink. About Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi, on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, is a river city known for Santa Claus Village, northern lights, reindeer and deep snow.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, set where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers join, just south of the Arctic Circle. The town was rebuilt after being burnt in the Second World War, and its street plan, drawn by the architect Alvar Aalto, is said to echo a reindeer's antlers. Arktikum, a museum and science centre, tells the story of life in the Arctic, and a lit footbridge known as the Lumberjack's Candle crosses the river.
