About Perpignan
Perpignan is a sunny city in French Catalonia near the Spanish border, with a palace of the kings of Majorca, a red-brick gatehouse and Catalan streets.
Perpignan is the main city of French Catalonia, in the far south of France between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, and Catalan is heard in its streets and seen on signs. The Castillet, a red-brick gatehouse from the fourteenth century, stands over the old town, and the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, a fortress-palace on the hill, has a courtyard of arches and galleries.
