The tour allows you to see different perspectives of the temples and find the best angles for your photographs. What makes the Grand Plaza unique is the combination of architecture, history, and jungle. The enormous temples rise before you while the tropical vegetation surrounds the ancient city center, creating a sight you will hardly find anywhere else. Here you will have time to admire the monuments, learn about their importance, and take some of the most special photographs from your visit to Tikal.
It is one of the great structures you will discover during the tour of Tikal. Its impressive facade rises among the jungle vegetation, creating one of the most characteristic images of the ancient Mayan city. During the visit, you can approach to appreciate its architecture and observe how the temple integrates with the natural environment. The combination of the monumental structure, the trees, and the jungle surrounding it offers different perspectives for taking unique photographs. One of the special aspects of Temple III is precisely its location within the jungle. Unlike completely open spaces, here you can experience how the ancient Mayan constructions appear among the vegetation, creating the feeling of discovering a hidden city. It is an ideal spot to stop, admire the architecture, and capture photographs that show the true essence of Tikal: great monuments surrounded by the Mayan jungle.
Temple IV is one of the most impressive points of Tikal and one of the places that cannot be missed during the visit. Its enormous structure rises above the jungle and offers an extraordinary view of the ancient Mayan city. From above, the immense jungle stretches to the horizon, and among the green canopy, the peaks of other Tikal temples can be seen. This place is special because it allows one to understand the true magnitude of Tikal: a great Mayan city built in the middle of a seemingly endless jungle. Furthermore, it is one of the most spectacular settings for taking photographs and keeping a unique memory of the visit. Climbing Temple IV and contemplating Tikal from the heights is one of those moments that make the experience much more than an archaeological visit.
It is a perfect place to stop, explore, and capture unique photographs among the monuments and tropical vegetation. The great pyramid of Lost World is the most surprising point. Its imposing structure dominates the complex and allows one to appreciate the greatness of Mayan architecture from different angles. Contemplating it surrounded by the jungle, it is easy to imagine how this city remained hidden for centuries among the vegetation. What makes Lost World special is the feeling of discovery. Here you don't just come to observe an ancient structure; you walk through a space where archaeology and nature meet at every step. About Flores
Flores is a small island town in Lake Petén Itzá in northern Guatemala, the main base for the Maya ruins of Tikal and the Petén rainforest.
Flores sits on a small island in Lake Petén Itzá, joined to the shore by a short causeway, with cobbled lanes circling a hilltop plaza and a cathedral. It stands on the site of Nojpetén, the last capital of the Itza Maya, which held out against the Spanish until 1697. The island is ringed with small hotels and lakeside restaurants, and boats cross to lakeshore villages.
Top-ranked sights in Flores: Yaxhá, Lake Peten Itza (Lago Petén Itzá), Bena Traditional Village.
