2. Steventon is the village where Jane Austen was born and raised. Unfortunately, the rectory where her family lived was demolished in 1824, but visitors can see the site marked by a lime tree believed to have been planted by her brother, James. We will also explore the charming village and visit the church where her father served as rector.

3. Our next stop is the city of Winchester, where Jane Austen spent her last days. We will pause for lunch at a local pub or café before enjoying a walking tour of the city. Our final stop will be the magnificent Winchester Cathedral, where you can pay your respects at Jane Austen's final resting place.

About Southampton

Southampton is a historic port on England's south coast, with medieval walls, Titanic history and the New Forest and the Isle of Wight close by.

Southampton lies at the head of Southampton Water, a deep sheltered inlet that has made it one of England's great ports for centuries. Stretches of the medieval town wall survive, along with the Bargate, a gateway that once marked the northern entrance, and Tudor House and Garden occupies a medieval merchant's house. The Titanic sailed from here in 1912, a story told in the SeaCity Museum, and the Mayflower set out from the port in 1620.
