5Husky Introduction to Sledding
Great introduction to the wonderful work these dedicated folks do with their dogs! They absolutely love their animals and that is extremely evident as they discuss the hard work they do to get them prepared for sledding. Got to meet Jeff King and hold a puppy too!
5An awesome Tour
Awesome adventure. A must do if you are Denali National Park. Iditarod Champion Jeff King was not only an informative speakers but also very entertaining. The passion he has for his mush team and all of his trained dogs as well as for the race itself is so infectious you can’t help wanting to learn more about it. Fortunately he has written a book you can purchase, so after the tour you can go home and learn more about his adventures. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Being able to hold the puppies and seeing the team in action was so awesome
5Husky Homestead
This tour was great! Super informative and interesting, plus you get to snuggle puppies.
5Highlight of our time in Denali
This was our second trip to Alaska and my wife really wanted to make sure we visited the Sled dogs this time. I obliged (which is how we’ve stayed married for 43 years!) but honestly wan’t expecting much. Oh my was I wrong! Jeff King and Amanda Otto hit it out of the park! The entire excursion was incredibly well executed, well timed, well choreographed, and we got to meet Jeff! We learned so much! We walked in with a ‘Hollywood’ vision of what a sled dog was. We were taught those dogs were cute and cuddly, but the Alaskan Husky was a MUCH different breed. These are stronger and made of steel! They CRAVE running and pulling the sled! Their DNA is made up of R U N! It was the highlight of this trip and should we make our way back again, I have every confidence we’ll be back! Thank you Jeff, Amanda, and all the others who made this so very memorable for us!
5One of Our Favorite Denali Experiences!
We absolutely loved Husky Homestead! From getting to hold the adorable puppies to learning about the dogs, their training, the kennel operation, and the Iditarod, the entire experience was fascinating and so much fun. It was incredibly informative without ever feeling boring, and everyone in our multi-generational family—from kids and teenagers to adults—really enjoyed it. You can tell how much knowledge, passion, and work goes into these incredible dogs and the sport. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Denali. 100% recommend Husky Homestead!

About Denali National Park
Denali National Park is six million acres of tundra, spruce forest and glaciers in interior Alaska, centred on the highest mountain in North America.
Denali National Park and Preserve covers about six million acres of interior Alaska, a landscape of braided rivers, tundra, spruce forest and glaciers spread across the Alaska Range. The mountain itself, 6,190 metres high, is the highest in North America. It often hides in cloud, so a clear view of the summit is a matter of luck.
