About Schönefeld

Schönefeld is a municipality on Berlin's south-eastern edge, known for the city's airport and as a handy base for Berlin, Potsdam and the Spreewald.

Schönefeld lies in Brandenburg, just beyond Berlin's south-eastern boundary, a mix of villages, fields and business parks. It is best known as the site of Berlin's airport, which grew from the main airport of East Germany, and most visitors pass through on their way to the capital, whose centre lies some fifteen kilometres to the north-west.
