After being fully equipped with winter clothing and skis, we head to a scenic trail just outside the city, where your adventure begins. Gliding through snow-covered forests and, conditions permitting, across frozen lakes, you will experience the calm beauty of the Arctic in a truly authentic way. Surrounded by silence, fresh winter air, and stunning snowy scenery, this approximately 3-hour journey offers a memorable glimpse into Finnish winter life.   1. Learn to ski cross-country skiing and admire beautiful landscapes with a local guide. Spend a nice day or half exploring the nature! This trip is suitable for beginners as the guide will make a skiing lesson first. You will learn traditional cross-country skiing and you will have a chance to try skate skiing if you like. This trip is a great opportunity to take nature pictures and with some luck you may also see footprints of wild animals or even animals themselves. You may try sliding on even surface as well as downslopes. Warm beverages and snacks are offered during this trip. Great fun for all! Two starts a day: At 10 AM and 2 PM for half-day trip. Full Day Trip is 5,5 hours, starts at 10AM. Snacks and warm beverages are offered during this tour. All day trip includes lunch, too.

About Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi, on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, is a river city known for Santa Claus Village, northern lights, reindeer and deep snow.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, set where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers join, just south of the Arctic Circle. The town was rebuilt after being burnt in the Second World War, and its street plan, drawn by the architect Alvar Aalto, is said to echo a reindeer's antlers. Arktikum, a museum and science centre, tells the story of life in the Arctic, and a lit footbridge known as the Lumberjack's Candle crosses the river.
