Itinerário

  1. The Parapet Walkway is 15 meters above Cittadella’s walls on the historic defensive walkway whose purpose was to defend the town from above in the event of enemy attack. Recent renovation work has made the historic Walkway safe for the public and it is an excellent opportunity to explore the town from a new and attractive historic perspective, a unique walk through history. The visitors’ route is almost two kilometers long and many of the medieval museums and re-enactment rooms in the Captain’s house can be visited en route. Inside the Torre di Malta, moreover, you can visit the almost thirty meter high Belvedere, the Siege Museum and the Civic Archaeological Museum. The view ranges over the countryside around the town including the Euganean Hills, the Berici mountains, the Alpine foothills with the walled towns of Marostica and Asolo and Mt. Grappa.

  4. The elegant neoclassical facade is attributed to Giuseppe Jappelli, author of the famous Pedrocchi Café in Padua. The stunning frescoes in the room were created by Francesco Bagnara, the same artist who decorated "La Fenice" theatre in Venice. Admire the hidden "Jewel" of Cittadella

About Vicenza

Vicenza is a Veneto city shaped by the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, with arcaded palaces, a Palladian theatre and villas in the hills.

Vicenza lies between Verona and Padua, on the plain below the Berici hills, and its centre is a World Heritage site for the buildings Palladio designed in the sixteenth century. The Basilica Palladiana, with two storeys of arched loggias, overlooks the main square, Piazza dei Signori, and the palaces along Corso Palladio, such as Palazzo Thiene and Palazzo Barbaran da Porto, show how he adapted Roman ideas to the city.
