The Burg Square is known as the Market Square and it is the heart of Bruges because the city's administration still occupies the 14th-century Gothic Town Hall building. By visiting Burg Square you will see a majestic square surrounded by different centuries-old landmarks and buildings.
At the basilica of the Holy Blood you will see in both chapels very interesting works of art, beautiful architecture, history of the chapels from 12th century and will also hear legends and stories of Crusaders.
Belfry of Bruges is protected monument recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the top floor of the building you will enjoy a panoramic view of Bruges and its surroundings as well as witness the clock mechanism of the Carillon.
Torture Museum Oude Steen Brugge is housed in the beautifully renovated and one of the oldest stone building in Bruges. About Bruges
Bruges is a medieval Flemish city of canals, cobbled squares and brick gables, its historic centre protected as a World Heritage site.
Bruges grew rich in the Middle Ages on the cloth trade and as a port joined to the sea by a channel, until the waterway silted up and left the city almost untouched for centuries. The Markt square is overlooked by the Belfry, whose 366 steps lead up to a carillon and a view across the rooftops.
