Straight roads hardly exist, and we've counted an average of 10 curves per kilometer. The roads are quite empty, and the capital city of Thimphu doesn't even have a traffic light! Our motorcycle tour of Bhutan takes us along small mountain roads in varying conditions, and the ride never gets boring – beautiful landscapes soon cure us of the urge to ride hard. We kick back and savor the pure joy of cruising on our Bullet motorcycles at a relaxed 30 to 70 kph. About Paro
Paro is a green valley town in western Bhutan, home to the country's only international airport and the cliff-clinging Tiger's Nest monastery.
The Paro valley opens along a river at about 2,200 metres, its terraced rice fields dotted with farmhouses whose windows are painted wood. Paro Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest, clings to a sheer cliff some 900 metres above the valley floor, reached by a steep forest path. Rinpung Dzong, a whitewashed fortress-monastery, overlooks the town, and a covered wooden bridge crosses the river beneath it.
