About Nanded
Nanded is a Maharashtra city on the Godavari River, sacred to Sikhs as the place where Guru Gobind Singh spent his last days, with a golden-domed gurdwara.
Nanded lies on the banks of the Godavari River in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. It is one of the holiest places in Sikhism: Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru, spent his last months here and died in 1708, after naming the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru. The gurdwara of Hazur Sahib, one of the five Takhts of the Sikh faith, rises beside the river with a gilded dome and white marble courtyards.
